Good morning. How did you sleep? How was your breakfast? Your guide will brighten your day before starting your road trip to Murchison Falls National Park.

This park is Uganda’s largest national park and one of the most exciting places. Above all, this is one of the most impressive 12 Days Uganda Safari. Any traveller to Uganda will agree with us.

Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Your first stop will be at Wobulenzi, where your guide will buy some fresh pineapples you will enjoy in the coming days. Another stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where tourists will go to an open savannah woodland to see the southern white Rhinoceros.

A briefing will follow during the expedition and be given by the ranger. The time allowance is about 1 hour, with the Rhinoceros observing them grazing or resting.

Visit Murchison Falls water fall

Your guide will drive you to the Kabalega resort for a hot meal before continuing to Masindi. After your lunch, the next leg of your journey will take you through Masindi town. A significant come stopover for tourists heading to Murchison Falls.

Driving 24 km, we head to the gate where your safari guide will make payments, clearing your permission to enter the park. Then, start spotting wild animals such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, Abyssinian ground hornbill, and sometimes the shy bushbuck.

The Murchison Falls

The rush of being so close to the most powerful falls in Africa will take. You will witness for yourself what words can’t possibly explain. You must experience this and try to put it in terms.

The river flowing at 100 meters is reduced to flowing through 7 meters. Dropping down about 45 meters, all the volume of water has to squeeze through a narrow crevice. Wait, you will see!

Bisected by the Victoria Nile, the Murchison Falls National Park is rich in plains game teeming with the hippopotamus and crocodiles in the waters. The delta area is where large herds of Uganda Kobs and African buffalo graze.

It is an excellent place to see the ordinarily shy oribi antelope and Jackson’s hartebeest. Other animals you will likely see in this area include the African elephant, warthog, localized Rothschild’s giraffe, and browsing patas monkey.
Some common birds are the Abyssinian ground hornbill, secretary bird, yellow-mantled widow, Piac Piac, and Denham’s bustard. Moreover, lions and leopards are on the animals to look out for today.

An attractive feature of the Borassus grassland is that it is practically free of tsetse flies, a nuisance in many other parts of the park, including the acacia woodland that follows the Albert Nile.

An afternoon boat safari on the Victoria Nile

We return for lunch at the iconic Sarova Para Lodge, which is served from 12hr30. The African Queen takes tourists for a 3-hour boat safari to the bottom of the Murchison Falls.

Here, the boat captain will point out Hemingway’s capsized boat and the devil’s cauldron. During the boat trip, tourists will see various wild animals and birds. Finally, we returned to the lodge until dinner time and rested.

clarify, we will take an early road trip to Kibale Forest after your breakfast. Kibale Forest National Park offers chimpanzee tracking and superb bird-watching. Indeed, primates’ most excellent variety and concentration are found anywhere else in East Africa.

The 12 Days Uganda Safari trip is scenic, especially with views of the western rift valley; sometimes, we might see local weekly roadside markets.

Good morning. After breakfast, we drive or walk to the visitor’s briefing centre. The most popular activity in this area is a guided forest walk, searching for chimpanzees.

The popular guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is for general primate viewing. It is undoubtedly one of the finest birding trails in this tourist area.

With chimpanzee habituation as the best option for guaranteeing 100% chimpanzee encounters. We ask you to clarify if you would prefer this option. Consider letting us know in advance so we can secure a spot for you.

The chimpanzee tracking starts at 8:30 a.m. after the briefing and groupings. Chimpanzee tracking can last between 1 hour to as long as 3 hours. There is a 70% chance of spotting chimpanzees; sometimes, you must settle for hoots and calls.

Please return to the starting point, and we will head for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, go to the Bigodi community office for registration before you are taken on a rewarding walk. The walk offers guests a variety of monkey species, birds, and butterflies. After the walk, you will meet with the guide and head back to the lodge for the rest of the evening.

From the great Kibale Forest area, 12 Days Uganda safari takes you to an eco-lodge high above the Kyambura Gorge. Most importantly, it gives magnificent views over the Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Rwenzori Mountains. Additionally, you’ll take boat trips along the Kazinga Channel to see the wildlife that basks on the banks or drink.

You’ll track chimps in the Kalinzu with an experienced guide and embark on community walks to meet local people. And you’ll set off on early morning and afternoon game drives to photograph the pride of lions, leopards, and great herds of Ugandan Kob.

Journey time – 2 hours

Another beautiful day in Queen Elizabeth National Park; on this 12 Day Uganda holiday, we start early for the usual morning game drive.

After breakfast, guests will head to the network of game-viewing roads around the Kazinga channel to see hippos, warthog, bushbuck, waterbuck, and elephants. Furthermore, we do this by heading to the mating grounds of the Uganda kobs; here, we will be searching for lions.

Following the game drive, we return to the lodge, where we will have lunch and then head to the river for a boat ride. You should see elephants, buffalo, waterbuck, Uganda Kob, and many hippos. Research shows that the Kazinga channel has a large concentration of hippopotami globally.

The water birds are plentiful along the channel, particularly pelicans, and flock on the sandbanks. The common species include black-headed gonolek, a member of the shrike family with a dazzling red chest – and look closely to the localized papyrus gonolek, similar in appearance but with a yellow crown.

Clients will head back to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Today after breakfast, we head to Kyambura Gorge to track the chimpanzee that lives here. Moreover, this gorge is 16 km long and 100m deep. It borders Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve. Additionally, Kyambura Gorge is home to chimpanzees and red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus, giant forest hogs, and bird species. This 12 Days Uganda Safari brings you close to the chimpanzees in the Kyambura gorge.

Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge

The chimps here are reasonably well-habituated to people, and the confined nature of the gorge means that they are easier to locate than in some other reserves. Of course, there are no guarantees, but you would be unlucky to do this trek and not see chimps.

We will then transfer to the Ishasha sector, the remote section of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ishasha is famous for its unusual lions that climb trees; they have been named tree-climbing lions because they climb large fig trees. Hot lunch at the lodge before we head to the Ishasha sector.

Meeting gorillas in the wild is the main reason for visiting the Bwindi forest. An encounter with a silverback is a thrilling experience – but the park has other attractions. You’ll also have the option to meet the local community and trek through dense forests, searching for the gentle giants.
With the support of the porter service and the head guide, you will come in contact with the gorillas.

Return to the lodge to rest and enjoy the views of the forest.
